You have:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in copyediting or content writing for web platforms.
  • Background in communications, journalism, English, or social sciences.
  • Fluency in English (required).
  • Experience working with UN or development organizations is an asset.

This assignment supports the UNV Regional Office fo Asia and the pacific in enhancing visibility and storytelling around volunteer impact. The editorial support of OVs will help ensure impactful storytelling, promote volunteerism in the region, and support SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goal.

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Communications Officer, UNV Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, the Online Volunteers will support the editorial and storytelling process for UNV Asia-Pacific web content.

Specifically, 3 Online Volunteers will:

  • Review, write and edit 3 web stories each (700–800 words per story) for publication on the UNV website and related channels.
  • Provide editorial comments, and refine the tone, flow, and clarity of draft stories to align with UNV’s editorial voice and audience (editorial guidelines will be provided in advance).
  • Provide copyediting and language improvements, including comments and suggestions to enhance structure, readability, and messaging.
  • Participate in a short orientation call with the supervisor to align on expectations, style, and workflow.
  • Communicate progress, adjust for feedback, share deliverables via email and follow editorial timelines agreed with the supervisor.

Expected deliverables:

  • 3 edited stories per Online Volunteer (total of 9 stories across 3 OVs)
  • Edited versions and tracked-change files with brief editing notes.
  • Completion within a 2-week assignment period.
