The Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) offers a selected group of outstanding graduate-level students the opportunity to acquire direct exposure to IICPSD's work as a center of excellence for the private sector in development. The volunteership is designed to support IICPSD’s applied research and policy advisory services and to complement the interns’ practical experience in various issues related to private sector engagement, skills generation, private sector resilience, impact investing, and other topics of international development. The Programme operates under the rules and regulations of the UNDP Internship Policy.

IICPSD has research outputs planned to be published in the coming months. To utilize the effectiveness of the social media platforms to deliver these research works, a volunteer with solid experience and knowledge is needed. Through the Communication and Social Media volunteer, IICPSD would be able to bridge the gap between research and social media through appropriate content creation and publication for Private Sector Development programs.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Online Volunteer to assist the IICPSD in utilizing communication and social media platforms by creating and publishing articles for IICPSD.

In close collaboration with the IICPSD Knowledge Management and Partnership Analyst, the Online Volunteer is expected to write ten (10) informative articles regarding IICPSD researches on Private Sector Development programs and share these on social media platforms.

Each content must be;

-At least 500 words but no more than one page. -Specific to only one Private Sector Development program. -Based on fact and actual data. -Published on LinkedIn and Facebook.

The Online Volunteer will be provided with materials and other sources in performing the assignment as required and available.

For close coordination and discussion the Online Volunteer is expected to be available for calls via Skype/Zoom/Microsoft Teams.

The candidate must have a master’s degree in political science, communications, public relations, public information, advocacy or other relevant field of studies is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

The candidate must meet the below skills and experience. -A minimum of three (3) years experience in research, communications management, journalism, advocacy or public information is required. -Familiarity with relevant IT tools, software and applications, including office and communications-related publication software (including InDesign, Adobe, PowerPoint presentations, Publisher) is required. -Written samples of previous work related to research within the international development and humanitarian research -In-depth knowledge in the development and implementation of social media plans in the context of humanitarian and international development field is desirable. -Experience in an international setting with the international NGOs, UN or with international organizations is desirable.
