The Recruitment Monitoring and Evaluation (RME) function in the Division of Human Resources (New York) is responsible for reviewing UNICEF recruitments on a post-facto basis to provide information and insights on organization-wide recruitment trends, highlight systemic and specific issues with regards to compliance with the Staff Selection Policy, identify best practice to strengthen global recruitment efforts and identify recruitment capacity needs and support efforts towards strengthening capacity building.

How can you make a difference?

We are seeking a junior to consultant to support the RME function. Under the guidance of the HR Manager, the consultant will:

  • Contribute to continuous shaping of the RME framework, in alignment with the Organizations revised Staff Selection Policy, standards and guidelines and forthcoming revisions thereto. Keep abreast of developments and procedures in staff selection and recruitment.
  • Support the ongoing creation of an evidence base of quantitative and qualitative data on an ongoing basis. This includes accurately compiling and logging information, in addition to reviewing, and analyzing data.
  • Engage and collaborate with Analytics and Operations (AO) team for all required quantitative data set(s) related to recruitment. Interpret data, identify patterns, trends.
  • Prepare the Quarterly RME PPT presentation. This includes analysis and synthesis of information and application of relevant policy, ensuring validation of quantitative data by AO team.
  • Draft the RME quarterly report, embedding key points from the Quarterly meetings.
  • Contribute to and support the review of recruitment documentation, as required.
  • Be responsible for the overall knowledge management of the function.
  • Support any other key initiatives and related activities of RME, as required. This may include drafting presentations, notes, key messages, guidance etc.

The consultant is expected to undertake other duties as required and assigned by the supervisor. Exact tasks may be added or modified throughout the period of the assignment depending on the workload and emerging priorities. The consultancy is for 3 months, and the start date is 27 September 2021.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have …

  • A Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, International Relations, Statistics or a related area
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience. Some hands-on experience in the field of human resources.
  • Knowledge and understanding of human resources practices and principles.
  • A strong background in data and analytics. Experience working with databases, database queries/analysis is required. Experience with pivot tables and data visualization is also required.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, and advanced knowledge in Excel.
  • A strong ability to articulate clear and concise ideas and concepts in written and oral form and tailor content to the audience.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and conceptual and analytical ability.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
