You have:

  • Graduation/Diploma in Agriculture/Horticulture or Related fields
  • 1-2 years of Experience in working at Tissue culture lab and Nursery management in Potato or other crops
  • Support potato tissue culture plantlet production in the tissue culture laboratory
  • Prepare media and manage routine laboratory activities
  • Supervise Apical Rooted Cutting (ARC) production for potato seed multiplication
  • Coordinate and support all activities related to potato seed production

The International Potato Center (CIP) is a global, non-profit research organization that works to improve food security, nutrition, and incomes in developing countries through research and innovation in root and tuber crops—primarily potatoes and sweet potatoes.

CIP also works to strengthen value chains and market access by supporting smallholder farmers in building inclusive and profitable value chains, while enhancing climate resilience by helping farming systems adapt to the impacts of climate change.

The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking to recruit a motivated, hands-on expert CONSULTANT (Tissue Culture Specialist) for Bhubaneswar, Odisha Office.

Requirements

  • Support potato tissue culture plantlet production in the tissue culture laboratory

  • Prepare media and manage routine laboratory activities

  • Supervise Apical Rooted Cutting (ARC) production for potato seed multiplication

  • Coordinate and support all activities related to potato seed production

Education:

· Graduation/Diploma in Agriculture/Horticulture or Related fields

Experience:

Benefits

The initial contractual appointment for this role will be till July 2026. There is a high possibility of contract renewal based on project requirements and individual performance. The position will initially offer a consultancy fee of INR 25,000.
