Overview

Support building CGE models and provide training program.

You have:

  • Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in economics or related area is required.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in economic research is required.
  • Experience in quantitative analysis and applying CGE modelling in economics is desirable.
  • Fluency in English or Arabic is required.

Work Location Beirut

Expected duration The assignment should be completed within 4 months starting the date of the signature of the contract.

Duties and Responsibilities The objective of the consultancy is to support the building of new CGE models by developing two CGE models for Palestine and to provide a training program. Activities, Methodology and Timelines For each country the following activities will be implemented Act 1.1. Developing/updating the Social Accounting Matrix Act 1.2. Developing a Macroeconomic framework for the Business as Usual scenario Act 1.3. Calibrate the model Act 1.4. Developing a first version of the model in a MIRO format Act 1.5. Present the model to the Authorities and get their feedback comments suggestions and/or validation Act 1.6. Develop the final version of the model that includes all the feedbacks and comments and support in its upload in the platform Ac1.7. Provide a one week training to enhance the modeling capacities of the country

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: ? Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in economics or related area is required. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Experience: ? A minimum of 15 years of experience in economic research is required. ? Experience in quantitative analysis and applying CGE modelling in economics is desirable. Language: ? Language: Fluency in English or Arabic is required.
