Result of Service Successful candidate should deliver analytical summary in English (max. 10 pages) based on the analysis of the human rights situation in Belarus and review of the implementation of the human rights recommendations provided by the UN human rights mechanism by 20 December 2023.

Duties and Responsibilities In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework Guidance, the United Nations in Belarus annually conducts a Common Country Analysis, which also includes an overview of the human rights commitments that the country has made, as relevant to the SDGs. Hence, the objective of the assignment is to conduct an analysis of the human rights situation in Belarus in 2023, with a link to its impact on vulnerable groups and SDG implementation.

Qualifications/special skills Master’s degree in human rights, public or international law, political science, international relations, or a related field is required. Minimum 3 years of experience in conducting research and drafting analytical papers, reports or briefing notes is required.

Languages English and French are the two working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English and Russian is required.
