Under the general guidance of the Communication Manager (Partnership Support), the job will focus on communication support for the LEGO Group and LEGO Foundation partnership. Tasks include multi-country coordination for communication planning; communication workshop facilitation; development of communication assets and materials; management of reputational risks through communication strategies; and oversight for the rollout and implementation of these communication assets and strategies across markets.

How can you make a difference?

The Partnership Communication Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  1. Driving the coordination between PFP, the lead National Committee, and country offices about LEGO-funded initiatives and overseeing the implementation of communication plans and activities in close coordination with the lead National Committee and the Global Lead for Account Management.

  2. Developing communication assets e.g. press releases, social media messages, website content, human interest stories, newsletters etc. for the partnership.

  3. Facilitating communication workshops/meetings to ensure alignment across UNICEF and partner.

  4. Managing reputational risks relating to the partnership through communication strategies.

  5. Performing other related tasks which may be assigned in relation to the Lego Group and Lego Foundation partnership.

WORK ASSIGNMENT – DELIVERABLES:

DELIVERABLE 1:

Attendance and participation in regular partnership coordination meetings:

  • weekly (4x/month) meeting with lead National Committee.
  • Monthly (1x/month) meeting with lead National committee and PFP.
  • Quarterly (1x/every 3 months) - meeting with lead National Committee, PFP and LEGO Group and LEGO Foundation.

    DELIVERABLE 2: Delivery of the following in any combination:

  • 1-2 press releases and partnership case studies/ stories per month

  • 1 -2 social media plans, assets, messages per month
  • 1 Website content (human interest story or press release) per month
  • 1 newsletter for the partnership per month

DELIVERABLE 3: 2-4 Regular calls/meetings with recipient offices (country offices) per month.

Supervisor: Communication Manager, Marketing and Public Relations Services.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:

  • Advanced university degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Social Sciences, Arts, or related fields is required. A first-level university degree, in combination with additional 2 years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years progressive experience in the following fields: Communications, Public Relations, Account/Client Management, Sales, Marketing, Fundraising, or Advertising is required.
  • At least two years of experience at international level is desirable. Previous regional or country office experience is an asset.
  • Strong project management experience working across cross-functional environments is desired.
  • Strong experience in working with a diverse group of stakeholders, across cross-cultural markets is an advantage.

Language:

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is considered as an asset.

Others:

  • Demonstrated ability to write press releases, develop communication plans and familiarity with social media as a marketing tool are requirements.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision is required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Familiarity with UNICEF and its systems and ways of working is an advantage.

    Remarks:

  • The application cover letter should include a portfolio of previous work such as press releases, communication plans, feature articles, social media assets, Frequently Asked Questions, briefing notes etc. At least 3 samples of previous work must be provided. Applications submitted without 3 samples will not be considered.
