Overview

Design and facilitate leadership training for managers

You have:

  • A Bachelor degree in Business Management or any relevant field
  • Approved capacity in coaching and provision of trainings
  • Certified Coach, ability to develop and tailor training materials on required leadership skills
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in development and facilitation of leadership trainings
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset

How can you make a difference?

The consultant is expected to:

  1. Design and facilitate 2 trainings: First training is to be designed for mid-level managers. Expected participants is between 20 to 30 staff. Expected time is any day within week 2 Oct. 2022. Second training is designed for high level managers for a period of (3 hours) for almost 20 managers. Expected time is 10 October 2022.
  2. provide participants with the knowledge and tools in a practical way to:
  • Understand the principles of leadership and effective people management and Guidance on strengthening their management, leadership and team leadership skills
  • Create a good and conducive work environment
  • Offer ways of delegating authorities and development of realistic goals and workplans
  • Manage hybrid teams
  • Manage time effectively for best results.
  • Have tools and way to effectively manage their team

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • A Bachelor degree in Business Management or any relevant field
  • Approved capacity in coaching and provision of trainings
  • Certified Coach, ability to develop and tailor training materials on required leadership skills, 3 to 5 years of experience in development and facilitation of leadership trainings.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Travel:

This is a home based consultancy. Should “mission travel” be required, UNICEF will manage and pay for travel via Travel Authorization. However, this will be subject to the following prerequisites: Medical Clearance, Security Clearance through the Travel Request Information Process (TRIP) system, the Basic and Advanced Security in the Field Trainings, Travel Visa, and liability waiver. The consultant/individual contractor is responsible for arranging his/her own travel and submit invoices to UNICEF for payment as part of the contract.

Insurance:

UNICEF will not be responsible for costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred during the consultant’s service. Therefore, the selected candidate must provide proof of enrollment in a health/accident plan prior to starting his/her work.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
