This is a Consultancy contract. More about Consultancy contracts.

UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

For every child, Care.

How can you make a difference?

Objective:

The consultant will contribute to the deployment and promotion of the Learning Passport Platforms to ensure students in Egypt, including children on the move, have access to quality education and learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, the consultant will be expected to:

-Support the Egypt Country Office to improve the Learning Passport for refugees as part of the emergency response programming.

-Support the Egypt Country Office and MoETE to deploy the offline Learning Passport as part of the development programming in remote areas without internet connectivity.

-Provide technical guidance to Egypt Country Office on strategies and issues related to Learning Passport and other education and technology initiatives.

Methodology:

Under the supervision of the Education Specialist, Egypt Country Office, the consultant will work closely with the Learning Passport’s MENA focal point, the global Learning Passport Deployment Team, and the ICT officer at UNICEF Egypt on the deployment of the Egypt Learning Passport Platform with MoETE. In addition to providing technical guidance to MoETE and support the curation, contextualisation and development of relevant content, the consultant is expected to lead on technical and technology-related aspects of the Learning Passport deployment with MoETE.

Furthermore, as the original Egypt Learning Passport web platform (https://egypt.learningpassport.unicef.org) and mobile application, which targets children on the move, will remain separate from the MoETE Learning Passport, the consultant is requested to continue managing this platform and liaise regularly with members of the Education Working Group and UNICEF implementing partners. Based on the already existing platform the consultant will identify, prepare and upload available digital resources and learning materials. Where necessary, and in collaboration with the Education Specialist, the consultant will support the identification and curation of learning materials for educators, learners and parents targeting children on the move and related to secondary education.

Additionally, the consultant is expected to regularly analyze the usage of the learning passport through data available from the platform, customize Egypt Learning Passport website to the needs of the targeted users based on regular feedback and suggest ways to improve the platform to ensure user-friendly experience. The consultant is highly encouraged to come up with new ideas for EdTech applications as well as to further develop and promote the Learning Passport in Egypt and liaise with other UNICEF country offices to learn from best practices and share Egypt’s experience.

At the beginning of the consultancy, the consultant is requested to participate in one or more on-boarding calls with the UNICEF’s regional focal point for the Learning Passport as well as other members of UNICEF’s global learning passport team.
