Digital Marketing Content Consultant to support the UNICEF Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regional Office with

the implementation of its branding and digital fundraising strategy.

Scope of Work:

The Digital Marketing Content Consultant will work under the guidance of the Communications and Resource Mobilization Teams in the MENA Regional Office and matrix management with UNICEF Gulf Area Office and Egypt Office. The consultant will implement and monitor the delivery of a wide range of tasks intended to support the individual giving paid media fundraising ads and the owned social media channels of the offices. The desired outcome is to build digital revenue from individual givers. The role will work closely with the digital team in PFP (Virtual Hub) and with focal points in the Communications and Partnerships teams in relevant Country Offices in MENA. The role will be pivotal in bridging the media content gap between owned, earned, and shared channels.

Expected responsibilities are as following:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a content strategy and plan for owned platforms (website, social media) and earned and shared media (PRs, media, and corporate partnerships, etc.) aimed at raising the brand profile with relevant audiences and improving the volume and quality of traffic from owned, earned, and shared channels to fundraising landing pages.
  • Collaborate with relevant colleagues for planned activations with influencers (individual, media and companies).
  • Develop required content pieces (videos, social media posts, blog posts) to deliver on the content strategy and plan.
  • Monitor implementation of the content strategy and plan, and measure and report on results as per agreed key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Work closely with relevant colleagues to ensure that the modifications to content on owned channels is aligned with fundraising campaigns.
  • Support with the review and approval of Arabic fundraising creative assets.
  • Collaborate with relevant colleagues to deliver strong stories, images, and footage from the field to support brand and fundraising content needs.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in either of the following subjects: Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Multimedia, Digital Media. In case of lack of university degree, 2 years of additional work experience will be required.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in Digital Marketing, Content Creation, Social Media Management, Fundraising and Digital Campaigns Management, Influencer and Partnerships Collaboration, Branding and Design.
  • Understanding and experience of Google Analytics and Meta products, and Salesforce products is an advantage.
  • Perfect, professional fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is a requirement, and French is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the UN system is an advantage.
  • International experience is an advantage

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
