Support sustainable human development through environmental project implementation.

You have:

  • A university degree in environmental studies, sustainable development, natural resource management, international relations, project management, or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably with international organizations, NGOs, or government agencies.
  • Experience in developing project documents, concept notes, or proposals within the context of international or regional organizations.
  • Ability to conduct assessments, compile and analyse data, and synthesize findings to inform project planning and implementation.
  • Familiarity with project monitoring frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and evaluating programme performance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with knowledge of project management or data analysis tools considered an asset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment and adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Understanding of key environmental and sustainable development issues affecting the Caribbean region is desirable.

This assignment supports sustainable human development by contributing to the design and implementation of environmental projects that address regional priorities and align with UNEP’s strategic goals. By providing technical and administrative support, it enhances project effectiveness, promotes stakeholder collaboration, and strengthens institutional capacity to deliver impactful and sustainable environmental solutions in the Caribbean.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Regional Project Coordinator within the Project Coordination Unit (PCU), with the overall guidance of the Head, Caribbean Sub-Regional Office (CSRO), the UNEP Regional Coordinator on Chemicals and Pollution, or his/her designated mandated representative(s), and the Regional Project Coordinator, and under the supervision of the Project Administrative Assistant, the Online Volunteers, will:

• Assist with research, assessments, and data analysis to aid project planning and development • Help prepare progress reports, including suggestions for next steps. • Help manage and update project databases, organize key documents and data to support effective monitoring and evaluation.

Required Experience: 4 years.
