IMPORTANT INFORMATION

This is a fixed term appointment with the option to renew for an initial period of 3 years following Section 3.1 (b) of Administrative Order No. 2.01 (“Recruitment and Appointment’). This appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment. After the initial fixed period, ADB has the option to renew the appointment for up to three years or allow it to expire. This decision is based on ADB’s overall interest in retaining the skills and experience of the staff for a medium-term work program within the respective group, department, or office, while considering the availability of funding sources.

This vacancy is a local staff position. It is open only to nationals and residents of Georgia.

The position is assigned in the Georgia Resident Mission (GRM) within the Central and West Asia Department (CWRD). CWRD is responsible for maintaining client relations and delivering ADB assistance to countries in the Central and West Asia region. GRM executes the country partnership strategy and coordinates ADB operations in Georgia.

Job Purpose

The Communications Officer will be responsible for managing and raising ADB’s profile in Georgia and will work on key areas that include: (i) support in communications planning, execution, and monitoring; (ii) monitor and report on social, economic, and political developments relevant to ADB operations in GRM; (iii) support engagement with civil society; and (iv) manage GRM’s publications and knowledge resources. The incumbent will report to Country Director GRM with functional oversight from the Department of Communications and Knowledge Management (DOCK).
