Duties and Responsibilities

THE ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING

The Bureau of Administration and Services (ADB) plays a lead role in the effective and efficient administrative management of the Organization by ensuring the provision of high-quality physical and human resources, by applying the highest standards of work ethics and conduct, and by using results-based management skills and tools to support the Organization in implementing its Strategic Objectives, in order to serve all stakeholders of the world aviation community.

The Bureau of Administrative Services and the Direction of Information Technology of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) are developing and maintaining corporate applications. They require a Communication Specialist to communicate effectively with users and ensure they adopt corporate tools. Persons in this position are expected to create high-quality designs and communication materials for web and print and to ensure they are consistent with the ICAO brand. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are as important as technical skills in this internal consulting role. COM unit: Internal communication of ICT to interact with users about changes and services.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports ADB and ICT with presentations, graphic and web design related support, such as: • Reports, newsletters, marketing materials, certificates, banners, trade show graphics, magazines, posters, signage, etc. • Web/digital communication for web portals, website designs, email blasts, social media, ICAO digital displays, PowerPoint documents, e-newsletters, digital applications, apps, etc. • Designs for the above materials. • Translates procedures into visual diagrams. • Designs on an ongoing basis, guidance and support for the Organization. • Updates ICAO websites to new design standards. • Provides ongoing support to the ICT team with a variety of communication and designs related tasks, such as: • Works closely with business analysists to support new projects. • Suggests communication related improvements for e-learning tools. • Reviews imagery, font and overall style ensuring they adhere to ICAO brand standards. • Provides graphic Design for ICAO websites, Design support for ICT projects ( web sites, products, e-Tools, eLearning, applications and more). • Provides communication Strategies: most improvement and changes in ICT and ADB require communication work throughout the year. • Mentors, trains and advises colleagues in communication and graphic related needs of the team.

Qualifications/special skills

Education

Degree/ Diploma in Graphic Design or in a related discipline or at least 5 years professional experience.

Professional experience

• 5+ years of experience as a graphic designer or a communication specialist, is required. • Fluency and knowledge of design tools like Adobe Creative Suite, is required.: • Must have a good basic knowledge of basic web technologies and programming, is required. • Knowledge of traditional and new marketing concepts, communication, and graphic technologies, is required. • Acute sense of good design and communication skills, is required.

Languages

• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking abilities in English, is essential. • Working knowledge of a second language of the Organization (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish), is desirable.

Additional Information

Please note that the monthly rate for Band B varies from $5,097 to $8,122.
