The Gambia, like many countries in the world, is grappling with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic which is threatening to reverse decades of progress in fighting poverty and improving the situation of women and children. In this critical moment, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in The Gambia is positioned to maximize the opportunities that the development landscape in the country presents to support the country through the pandemic and to build back better after the pandemic. Also, the Country Office is preparing for the development of a new Country Programme Document (CPD) in 2022 that will guide UNICEF’s interventions in the country.
