Job Purpose:

Plan International strives for a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We are independent of governments and have no political or religious affiliation.

Plan International Thailand (PIT) has been working in Thailand since 1981 and most of its work is now located in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and the greater Bangkok area with projects also in Tak, Trat, Phuket, and Phang Nga provinces. Over the years, PIT’s work has covered the areas of Child Protection, Early Childhood Care and Development, Disaster Risk Management, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, advancing rights of stateless and migrant children and youth, fair recruitment practices for migrant families, and youth economic empowerment, especially for girls.

PIT’s country strategy (2022-27) will deepen the organization’s focus on advancing children’s rights and striving for equality of girls and youth in all of their diversity in Thailand. Particular focus will be on gender transformative approaches with Plan International’s Areas of Global Distinctiveness (AOGD) programme areas on youth employment and empowerment, sexual reproductive health and rights, protection, and empowering children and youth to advance their rights and decide on their own life course.

Dimensions of the Role:

  1. Ensure that PIT Office(s) as well as local partner organizations are safe places for children and youth, due to implementing of Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy (SCYPP) activities and Child Protection Policy standards.
  2. Ensure the integration of child protection and safeguarding measures in each project activity from design to implementation, and monitoring that programme areas comply with minimum requirements.
  3. Ensure the achievement of PIT's programme and provide technical assistance to project and partners on Global Gender Transformative Approach and Child Safeguarding and Protection.
  4. Safeguarding focal point for reporting safeguarding incidents and follow-up on a case-by-case basis.
  5. Serve as gender focal point for PIT and provide specific advice and technical inputs on sexual and reproductive health to the programme team and partners
