How can you make a difference?

Purpose of the Consultancy:

Since the CFC-RTM inception, UNICEF continues to work with the Grand Gedeh County Health Team implementing the project in remote and hard-to-reach areas. The project is nearing its end and a consultant is needed to manage the implementation until the end.

The consultant will work under the supervision of the Health Specialist responsible for managing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and reporting of program progress of the CFC- RTM initiative He/she provides technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes to facilitate the achievement of tangible and workable results.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance on the implementation of the CFC/RTM programme including the roll out and use of the Liberia CFC Monitor.
  • Coordinate the conduct of stakeholders meeting to develop and agree upon a CFC Certification Scheme and agree on joint EPI, Nutrition, Protection and WASH reporting templates (build on existing M&E frameworks for individual programme service delivery).
  • Support the development and dissemination of partners, community stakeholders and Civil Society Organizations mapping.
  • In collaboration with the Grand Gedeh County Health Team, support the conduct of CHC and HFDC meetings with a focus on the use of CFC/RTM data for decision making and action.
  • Strengthen the functionality of accountability structures through the availability of an accountability framework at the national and county levels (close collaboration with the office of the superintendent).
  • Support the Roll out of the CFC/RTM digital classroom in Grand Gedeh and possible scale up in any other county base on funding availability and conduct focus group discussion at selected intervals during the COVID-10 Moodle and SMS training
  • Strengthen knowledge sharing mechanisms and support ongoing documentation of the initiative and programme activities.
  • Provide regular updates through monthly activities report and a bi-annual project report.
  • Support the digitalization of the community health information system.
  • Support the Joint Integrated Monitoring and Supportive Supervision by CHT and partners.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education: The candidate must have at least a bachelor’s degree in the field of social sciences or health. Other academic qualifications within the fields of statistics, computer science and monitoring and evaluation will be an added advantage.

Work experience: At least two (2) years of relevant experience in the field of public health with innovative project experience.

Language skills: Fluence required in English.

Other necessary/desirable skills/qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in project development and management in UNICEF or other UN agency or organization as well as experience. working in Liberia is an asset.
  • Strong and verbal and written communication skills and willing.
  • Knowledge of the southeastern region.
  • Able to ride motorcycle.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, plan and coordinate logistics activities as well as to transfer knowledge and skills.
  • Good analytical and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to work in an international or multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
