****About the job****

As the Global Change and Transformation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in leading and implementing strategic change initiatives to transform our operations, systems, and processes. You will work closely with the senior leadership team and other stakeholders to ensure that change management processes are effectively executed, resulting in a more efficient, effective and impactful organisation. You will have the autonomy to develop and implement a change management framework and strategy that aligns with our organisation's goals and objectives.

More concretely the first and most important task will be to lead and ensure that the organisation transformation DRC embarked on in 2021 will move from project mode to operational mode in 2023 across HQ, regions and countries and ensure that ambitions will be fully implemented, and the expected change will happen.

Key duties are:

  • Develop and implement a change management framework and strategy that aligns with the organisation's goals and objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement change initiatives, ensuring that all stakeholders are engaged and informed throughout the process.
  • Work closely with senior management and key stakeholders to ensure that the intended benefits and results of the Organizational Transformation are realized (this has been assessed in a stock take exercise in 2023, project plans and will again be measured in an impact assessment in 2024)
  • Identify areas for improvement and transformation within the organisation and develop plans to achieve them.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for change initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may arise during change initiatives and ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide guidance and support to teams and individuals impacted by change initiatives, including coaching and training on new processes, systems, and tools.
  • Develop and implement communication plans to keep stakeholders informed about the progress and impact of change initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of change initiatives and identify opportunities for continuous improvement

It is envisaged that this work and the evaluation will lead to more projects to ensure the success of Organisational Tranformation (OT) during 2024. The position will report to the Organisational Transformation operational Steering Committee and the Executive Management team.

****About you****

You are a visionary change leader with a proven track record in change management and organisational development.

We expect that you have:

  • An academic degree in business administration, organisational development, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in change management and organisational development, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a humanitarian organisation or a similar environment.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and manage project plans, budgets, timelines, and resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with individuals and teams at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks and issues.
  • Knowledge of change management methodologies and best practices.
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and AC (agreement for Academics). This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
