Overview

Administer petty cash and support financial operations efficiently.

You have:

• Minimum 2 years and above in a similar or related positions.
• Degree/diploma in Accounting, Business, supply chain and related field.
• BA degree in Accounting, Business and related field preferred.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, etc.) and ability to use new technology.
• Knowledge of commodity management and documentation.
• Ability to manage priorities and work in a team under pressure.
• Willingness to travel for long periods in difficult terrain.
• Good understanding of humanitarian standards.

Handles cash collection and timely deposit in the bank

Prepares deposit voucher to record cash collection and deposits

Major Responsibilities

• Administers petty cash and effects authorized payments ensuring completeness and correctness of supporting documents.
• Handles cash collection and timely deposit in the bank
• Prepares deposit voucher to record cash collection and deposits
• As the cash custodian, he/she ensures safety deposit of financial assets, handles the material supplies according to the material management and finance guidelines of WVE

• Handles all bank matters except collecting check books, which have to be done by other finance staffs

  Required Professional Experience:

• Minimum 2 years and above in a similar or related positions

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification :

• Degree /diploma in Accounting, Business, supply chain and related field

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

• BA degree in Accounting, Business and related field

• Strong MS office (Word, Excel, etc.) and the ability to use new technology, Knowledge of commodity management and documentation

• Patience, good relations with other people, good capacity to work in a team, capacity to manage priorities, precision, capacity to share knowledge and train colleagues, knowing the local language; willingness to work under pressure and extra hours.

• Ability to perform field assignments and willingness to travel for long period of time in difficult terrain, harsh and demanding conditions.

• Computer literacy is an added advantage
• Good understanding of humanitarian standards

Working Environment / Conditions

• Work environment: Camp-based with frequent travel to the field where disasters strike and sometimes to conflict areas and under stress conditions (Refugees);
• Travel: 80% travel to FDPs/ Hubs, Aps is required.
• On call: 20%
