The mission of the Climate Technology Centre and Network is to stimulate technology cooperation and to enhance the development and transfer of technologies to developing countries. The CTCN assists developing country Parties at their request, building or strengthening their capacity to prepare and implement technology projects that span the technology transfer continuum. The CTCN supports public and private sector action on mitigation and adaptation, enhancing low emissions and climate-resilient development in a manner consistent with the capabilities and priorities of countries. The CTCN Partnership and Liaison Office in the Republic of Korea is set up-up to enhance climate technology development and transfer and to strengthen the linkages between the CTCN and the Green Climate Fund and between the CTCN and other entities working on climate technologies that are based in the Republic of Korea. The Office also serves as a Centre of excellence for collaborative RD&D on climate technologies. The CTCN is also collaborating with the GCF (Green Climate Fund) to facilitate access to environmentally sound technologies that address climate change and its effects, including through the provision of readiness and preparatory support delivered directly to countries through their GCF NDA. These actions are in line with the guidance of the GCF Board (Decision B.14/02) and the UNFCCC, particularly paragraphs 4 and 7 of 14/CP.22 that addresses Linkages between the Technology and the Financial Mechanisms.
