Duty Station [Khokha -Yemen]

Who are we?

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has delivered humanitarian relief and development programming in Yemen since 2008. DRC focuses on supporting refugees, migrants, and people displaced by conflict and natural disasters, working especially in areas with access challenges. DRC engages in protection, emergency, WASH, and mine risk education programming among other sectors, and has hub offices in Sana'a, Aden, Hodeidah, as well as several other locations throughout Yemen.

In response to the critical and constantly evolving humanitarian situation in Yemen, DRC has assumed a leading role in coordinating response at IDP hosting sites. Working at IDP sites involves working together with international and local organizations in order to coordinate implementation of humanitarian activities, support community-based site management mechanisms, and monitor standards, needs, and gaps..

Overall purpose of the role:

The Information Management Officer is responsible for establishing, maintaining and developing information flow systems together with CCCM sector teams, as well as consolidating field data into information products intended to provide critical inputs for programme development. This position is required to spend significant lengths of time in field locations with DRC project activities.

Responsibilities:

CORE FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Improve information flows and continue development of forms for capturing key field information.
  • Ensure consistent response from the MEAL department to requests for information.
  • Ensure that all sources of verification are cross-examined prior to reporting.
  • Conduct and supervise data entry while ensuring that data meet high quality standards.
  • Ensure timely and effective collection of data from data sources and identify appropriate data sources.
  • Produce monthly reports of project progress including accurate data-analysis and gaps.
  • Produce and update information products such as reports, charts, infographics, and other materials.
  • Update 4W matrix with information and data from the relevant sector.
  • Ensure the security of all shared information.
  • Disseminate reports to clusters, donors and stakeholders as requested.
  • Conduct data quality checks to the data/information periodically.
  • Create online forms as requested by the Manager.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by the line manager.

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer Sciences/Information Systems/Information Technology or related field
  • Any Microsoft certifications in Access and related programs
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office as well as information product software
  • Strong capacity for critical thinking and analysis
  • Minimum of three years’ work experience in knowledge and/or data management
  • Experience in the humanitarian or development sector an advantage
  • Ability/willingness to very frequently move to different field locations

  • Professional fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English is essential

We offer

DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract ending on 15 December 2022, renewable based on both funding and performance.

Duty Station (Khokha-Yemen)

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment. This position will be placed at Band (NMH2), level (1) and will be reporting to CCCM Manager.
