Family duty station assignment

The IOM Regional Office (RO) for Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in Cairo, Egypt is implementing the project “Enhancing the Capacities of Resources Management Staff in the MENA region”, funded by the Migration Resource Allocation Committee (MiRAC). The main objective of this project is to strengthen IOM’s internal governance, quality control, transparency, and accountability mechanisms; in addition to building the internal capacities of selected Country Offices with low internal capacity to equip them with necessary tools and enhance capacities of the resources management staff in the MENA region to successfully deliver on IOM’s commitments while adapting to changes related to IGF and BT. Under the overall supervision of the Senior Regional Resource Management Officer (SRRMO) in RO Cairo and under the direct supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in country Office and the technical supervision of the Resources Management Officer (RMO) in Country Office, and in coordination with the RMU Administrative Assistant, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for giving support with respect to IOM’s policies and business processes and procedures relating to IT, administrative, financial, HR, Procurement, risk management and internal controls matters.

Experience with ERP systems (oracle and/or SAP or equivalent). Professional certification as chartered accountant (CA), Certify Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) will be a distinct advantage. Experience in UN or International Organizations financial management, budget monitoring, accounting, and internal control procedures. Experience with ERP systems (oracle and/or SAP or equivalent).

Climate is Mediterranean in north and along the coast, continental then Saharan in center and south. Tunisia has an average temperature of 24°C (75°F). Tunisian currency is the Tunisian Dinar and is neither convertible nor exportable. Traffic services between cities are available and cheap and taxis are in abundance in large cities. Access to medical care is always available. Cigna, the UN insurance provider has agreements negotiated with a selected network of clinics and health care facilities.

GDP growth Rate in Tunisia averaged 1.84 percent from 2000 until 2021 (39.24 billion USD). The services sector is the biggest sector of Tunisia's economy, accounting for 64 percent of GDP, the industrial sector represents 26 percent of the wealth and the primary sector accounts for 10 percent of GDP. Unemployment Rate in Tunisia increased to 16.7 percent in 2020.

Besides a few regions in the west and south of the country, the security situation in Tunisia had been stable and generally secure. However, it is advisable to maintain a high level of vigilance, as terrorism remains a significant concern also should exercise caution when frequenting public venues that are visited by large numbers of foreigners.
