Org. Setting and Reporting The post is located within the Office of Environmental Management and Mineral Resources (OEMMR) of the International Seabed Authority located in Kingston, Jamaica, and reports to the Director of OEMMR

Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following: 1. Under the supervision of Director of OEMMR, to coordinate the organization of virtual and in-person workshops and webinars by working together with other OEMMR colleagues, and monitor the progress of various preparatory activities; 2. To coordinate the registration and invitation of, and communication with, participants to attend the virtual workshops ensuring their timely participation through online platforms or in person, their quality contributions to the workshop deliberations, and their timely submission of presentation materials and the summary of presentations; 3. To coordinate the preparation of pre-recorded video and live in-person presentations, in collaboration with relevant subject-matter officer and the Communication Unit; 4. To manage registration process of all the participants to attend the workshops and webinars, and produce lists of participants in a standardized format of ISA; 5. To undertake electronic survey in support of the workshop and webinar objectives, in collaboration with relevant subject-matter officer and the Communication Unit; 6. To coordinate and communicate with workshop and webinar co-chairs, facilitators, rapporteurs and other collaborators, as advised by the Director of OEMMR and in collaboration with relevant subject-matter officer; 7. To provide technical support in preparing meeting documents, including provisional and annotated meeting agenda as well as information notes for participants; 8. To provide technical and editorial support in drafting opening speeches for the workshops, webinars and social media materials, managing meeting websites, and any other communication materials; 9. To coordinate pre-workshop/webinar coordination meetings with co-chairs, facilitators and rapporteurs as well as workshop participants; 10. To ensure all the technical and online logistic details for smooth conduct of the workshop proceedings; 11. To take notes of the workshop and webinar discussion, provide assistance in preparing presentation summaries, and provide editorial inputs in preparing the workshop and webinar reports; 12. To support the relevant OEMMR officers in all related subject matters including data compilation and analyses, literature reviews, reviews of Contractors’ annual reports and periodical reviews, stakeholder consultations, fact-finding and project initiatives, project management, capacity building; 13. Perform other duties as requested by supervisor

Education Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in marine environment, marine resources and technologies, marine policy, international relations and development studies, or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management in areas relevant to this position including experience in organizing international meetings within the context of UN/international organizations is required.

Experience advocating on sustainable ocean development with a range of actors/stakeholders is also desirable.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the ISA. For this position, fluency in oral and written English is required. Working knowledge of French is highly desirable. Knowledge of another UN official language is an added advantage
