IFC seeks to recruit a highly motivated Associate Operations Officer based in Washington, D.C. She/he will support the work program of the front office of the Regional Vice President (RVP) for Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean (LAC) on various activities, including analysis of business performance, analytical work to inform the RVP’s decisions, preparation of briefs, talking points and presentations, as we well as the organization of events for/by the RVP front office. This is a unique opportunity to work with the regional leadership team on addressing the most pressing developing challenges in the emerging Europe and LAC regions.

Duties and Accountabilities: • Support the RVP and RVP Advisors in the implementation of the work program of the front office. • Contribute to analyzing and reporting the region’s business performance and development results. • Monitor, update, and analyze the region’s investment/ advisory and upstream program and pipeline in coordination with the regional industry departments and sub-region departments. • Prepare briefings, talking points, and presentations for RVP’s internal and external meetings. • Conduct country, industry, and market research. • Support review of investment, advisory, and upstream project proposals, and board papers. • Support preparation of the RVP’s missions and other events organized by the front office.

Selection Criteria

• Master’s degree in finance, business, economics, international development, or related field;

• At least 5 years of professional experience with regional experience with Europe and/or Latin America and the Caribbean regions is a plus.

• Understanding of the financial aspects of investment or advisory transactions and ability to analyze financial statements.

• Knowledge of databases to inform country, industry, and market research.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to write in a logical and comprehensive yet concise manner.

• Advanced proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including utilizing graphics and tables to effectively and creatively present data.

• Ability to distill and summarize large amounts of information from various sources to prepare business documents and presentations.

• Strong organizational and communications skills.

• Diplomacy and responsiveness in interactions with others.

• Keen interest in development finance and multicultural environments.

• Ability to cope with a heavy workload and work effectively under pressure.

• Team player with the ability to execute tasks timely and effectively.

• Strong command of English (written and verbal) is a must; proficiency in other languages spoken in the region is a plus.
