The post is part of and contributes to the UIS’s overall strategic communication framework. The Associate Communication Officer will be responsible for: Long Description ---------------- - The strategic vision and capacity development for communication and advocacy on data products. - The production of a range of materials and tools on UIS data and activities. - The development, coordination and backstopping of programmes on data activities. - Acting as a focal point of the unit for communications, including responding to internal and external information requests. - Conceptualize, and provide strategic vision and capacity development for communication and advocacy on data products and activities, and monitor and evaluate impact of strategies and activities. - Produce a range of coherent materials and tools on data products (press releases, website texts, brochures, proposals, talking points, audiovisual and social media copy) for national, regional and global audiences. - Act as the main focal point of the Unit for communications, building partnerships and networks, liaising with UNESCO Field Offices and other Sectors, responding to external and internal information requests on UIS’ work on data, participating in relevant meetings, and preparing reports on communication activities for reporting and information purposes. - Contribute to the development, coordination and backstopping of programmes to deliver on UIS’ data strategy and facilitate knowledge building and knowledge sharing.
