Living conditions in any of the places with a UN Women presence in Colombia, including Bogotá, are generally good. There is a wide variety of activities in these cities, tourism, theater, cultural and sports activities, and restaurants that offer typical local and regional food.

Medical services in major cities (private clinics and hospitals) are available. Rural areas continue to be affected by the activities of illegal armed groups and by clashes between them and the Colombian Armed Forces. Therefore, it is mandatory for all personnel to take the “Basic field security” and “advanced field security” courses.
