Plan, implement, and coordinate comprehensive waste management systems that are designed to maximize waste prevention, reuse, and recycling opportunities; - Plan and do the projection of the transportation of waste to guarantee its efficiency and prevent contamination of air, land, or water; - Consult with field volunteers and local communities about waste management issues, identify their requirements and provide appropriate solutions; - Provide professional waste advice to waste producers, local recycling companies, and public authorities on waste management/disposal and recycling/reuse methods. - Locate and analyze specific waste management, recycling, reuse, and social data and distilling and synthesizing information relevant to the proposed project; Perform any other related duties as assigned. Under the supervision of the Head of the Development Department, the Development Team designs projects that fulfill the local needs and sit within the aims of SODEIT for poverty reduction, taking into account research findings, local conditions, and constraints; - Strategically plan for the sustainable growth of the support center and its continuity in vulnerable community outreach; - Provide new ideas/ initiatives to overcome local challenges.

This task involves providing assistance to the Project Coordinator in: 1. identifying potential donors, 2. developing new proposals, reviewing existing ones and 3. writing concept notes.

The online volunteers will also provide support to the Project Coordinator on strategic thinking and provide or share ideas on how to look for or target donors, foundations and humanitarian agencies

The online volunteers will not submit any funding request on behalf of our organization. The Project Coordinator will work together with the volunteer in developing this project.

  • A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field with atleast 3years of demonstrated experience in environmental management, solid waste management, waste recycling, urban planning or a related field.
  • Ability to plan, organise, direct, coordinate, promote and evaluate programs and activities involving recycling, waste reduction, waste collection, and other solid waste management.
  • Knowledge of solid waste and recycling disposal operations, materials, methods, practices, and equipment necessary for efficient disposal and/or transfer of refuse and recycling materials.
  • Ability to research, compile and analyse statistical data, and submit comprehensive technical reports.
