You have:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience from a management position in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Core competency expertise
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of the context in Ukraine
- Knowledge of the local language would be preferable
- Experience from advocacy work
- Experience in program establishment, integrated programming or similar
Contract
This is a Professional contract, Grade 9 (NRC) contract. More about Professional contract, Grade 9 (NRC) contracts.
As Area Programme Manager, you will be responsible for implementing integrated programmes and representing NRC at coordination forums, as delegated by the Area Manager. As Area Programme Manager, you will be a member of the Area Management Group.
Specific responsibilities
- Deputy AM when appointed.
- Responsible for the Core Competencies programmatic input to the contingency plan.
- Representation in Area level sectorial coordination, clusters and/or working groups.
- Contribute to development of programming in Western Ukraine.
- Contribute to sustainable programming and co-implementation and/or transition of implementation to partner organizations in the area.
- Coordination with Donors and other external stakeholders at the area level, in coordination with the AM.
- Contribute to planning and implementation of needs assessments, with Core Competency Specialists, including for new areas of operation.
- Work with Core Competency project managers to develop programmatic strategy for both emergency response and returns.
- Responsible for area-specific inputs to local strategies, including contingency plans and emergency plans.
- Responsible for holistic and integrated programme implementation, taking into consideration quality, cost efficiency, and targeting beneficiaries most in need.
- Coordinate with grants department to complete start-up, grants opening and grants closing meetings in area.
- Oversight of implementation of projects, including targets and budgets, in coordination with all project managers.
- Ensure that technical direction is followed up on and implemented by Core Competency project managers, in line with Core Competency specialists.
- Serve as link to M&E and Grants Department.
- Regular 1:1 meetings with direct line reports and completion of work and development plans for all direct reports.
