Overview

Assist in adult education classes and support students

You have:

  • Preferred availability for class times- Monday-Thursday 9:30am-11am and Friday 10am-1:30pm
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree or recent graduate
  • Patient, reliable, and flexible
  • Exposure to other cultures and languages is a plus
  • While a personal vehicle is not required, it would be helpful on occasion

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Attend ESOL and CO classes on designated days

•Arrive a few minutes early to check in with teacher about the day’s classroom activities

•Assist struggling students with class assignments.

•Assist with set-up and tear-down during Cultural Orientation

•Provide supervision for young children when present.

•Help integrate digital literacy in the classroom

•Other duties as assigned

•Record hours and submit completed timesheet for each month via the IRC’s online Volunteer Dashboard.

This position is unpaid and reports to the Adult Education Specialist.
