UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary provides services to UNICEF offices globally in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Payroll and Information Technology.

Starting in 2022, the GSSC will launch the Global Learning Centre (GLC), which will be responsible for managing and maintaining learning initiatives for UNICEF. This center will be a focal point for learning and development of UNICEF staff worldwide.

How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision and guidance of P4 Human Resources Manager (Learning & Development), the Administrative Associate (Knowledge & Course Monitor) is responsible to ensure all learning content is continuously maintained and aligned impacting the content and ensure relevance of courses offered. In addition, the Associate will be executing a broad variety of procedural and specialized administrative tasks for the respective section requiring in-depth knowledge of UNICEF administrative procedures, processes and policies.

Key functions, accountabilities, and related tasks:

Course monitor

  • Maintains comprehensive list of courses developed and managed by the Global Learning Center.
  • Works with regions, sections and offices to determine which course is appropriate for staff.
  • Responds to requests on course recommendations.
  • Ensures that each course has a Subject Matter Expert (SME) assigned who will regularly review the content of the course. The SMEs will be from various offices and locations across UNICEF.
  • Sends regular requests to review course content to the SMEs. Coordinates with management and course developers on the need to update course content based on SME feedback.
  • Acts as focal point in the review of the completeness of course monitor content and updates.

Knowledge Management

  • Monitors curriculum content and works with Knowledge creators to update when necessary.
  • Ensures that knowledge article links are up to date with course content. Assists Knowledge team in identifying Subject Matter Experts as needed.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary education (i.e., high school diploma) is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the field of work.
  • A minimum of 6 years of professional work experience in administration functions in coordination, collaboration and monitoring of tasks.
  • At least 2 years of experience in handling large scale Project Management.
  • Experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
  • Fluency in English (both spoken and written).

Desirables

  • Knowledge of E-Learning management systems.
  • Support for a training team is also considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of integrated management information systems and Software such as SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of another UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.

Internal applicants are required to complete the GSSC Learning Paths for the level of this post.
