Result of Service the Individual Contractor will be responsible to support work-plan updates, budget matters, follow-up on deadlines and other administrative matters as well as support in webinar related activities and research related tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities The Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) focuses on analyzing and supporting efforts to make institutions inclusive, effective, accountable and well-equipped to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as reflected in SDG 16. Through its normative and operative work, it assists countries on transformative governance and innovative public administration and services in advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, on the basis of an integrated approach by:

(a) Providing secretariat and substantive support to the General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council on issues related to governance and public administration; (b) Promoting greater awareness, common approaches, understanding and sustainable policy options among Governments through advocacy and knowledge transfer on good governance; (c) Providing advisory services and tools based on research and analysis, with an emphasis on countries in special situations; (d) Strengthening partnerships and cooperation with other international, regional and professional organizations, both public and private, and within and outside the United Nations system.

The Programme Management and Capacity Development Unit (PMCDU) of DPIDG is responsible for programme management of the division (budget matters, work‐plans, monitoring and evaluation, collecting and compiling inputs and following up on deadlines) as well as divisional communications and outreach work (planning and implementing the communications activities of the Division) and capacity development.

In view of limited staff resources, DPIDG would like to engage the services of an Individual Contractor at the General Service-level to temporarily support the work of PMCDU.

Work Assignment

Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Chief of PMCDU, the Individual Contractor will be responsible to support work-plan updates, budget matters, follow-up on deadlines and other administrative matters as well as support in webinar related activities and research related tasks. The Individual Contractor will specifically perform the following duties: a) Assist in the regular updates of the Divisional work-plan, including follow up with different Branches/Units for updates and populate the work-plan; b) Provide support in all budget-related matters; c) Check daily upcoming deadlines, follow up on them, update the deadline table daily and compile inputs received; d) Assist in research-related tasks; e) Provide support to virtual meetings and webinars and compile results of the post-event survey; f) Perform ad hoc tasks as required.

Qualifications/special skills Skills: Excellent use of Excel, PowerPoint, all Word Office programs and proficiency with internet research is required.

Experience working in an international organization is desirable. Academic Qualifications: High-school diploma or equivalent is required Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in conducting research, programme or project administration, technical cooperation or related area is required. Language: Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
