The primary purpose of the Admin Technical Assistant (Compound Maintenance) is to ensure NRC main office/compound in Kakuma, field offices in Kakuma camp and Kalobeyei settlement and other field bases are in good and functional state, thereby providing a conducive environment for staff to live and work from. The occupant of this role will ensure all electrical and plumbing works are sound and functional, buildings are in perfect state of repair and habitable for staff and visitors. NRC compound and field offices/bases are well maintained, lit and protected.

The role will be based at the Area Office in Kakuma and this role will be directly reporting to the HR/Admin. Technical Officer. The main focus of the role is to ensure the field offices are kept in sound state making them conducive to live and work in. This position shall ensure faults with respect to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry are promptly identified and fixed. Where services of external service providers are required, provide effective supervision of works undertaken by these service providers.

The role involves working in close coordination with the health, safety and security, Admin and procurement departments in identification of compound maintenance challenges and addressing them. Technical Assistant will also have a key role in designing drawings of works to be done, develop BoQs and provide technical guidance during evaluation of tenders for works to be undertaken by service providers. S/he shall be conducting bi-quarterly assessment of NRC compounds to determine repair/maintenance works and cost them for the purposes of budgeting.
