Background

UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace, and security.

Under the Women’s Leadership, Empowerment, Access, and Protection (LEAP) programme, UN women have been working with the objective to provide essential services to those affected by conflict. In responding to women’s immediate and long-term needs, the project enhances women’s access to economic/livelihood opportunities through the creation of employment opportunities, including by supporting access to financial services, business development, and direct cash (through cash for work initiatives). To promote women’s empowerment, this is paired with the provision of protection referrals, awareness-raising on rights and gender-based violence (GBV), and psycho-social support.

Objective of the Assignment:

Under the overall supervision of UN Women’s Deputy Country Representative and direct supervision of LEAP Programme Analyst and the National Council for Women (NCW), the Admin Coordinator will contribute to the effective implementation of UN Women interventions taking place at the National Council for Women in Giza through providing administrative and logistical support to the ongoing training inside the production unit and the production kitchen in addition to overseeing the assets placed inside both units.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of UN Women’s Deputy Country Representative, and direct supervision of the LEAP Programme Analyst and the National Council for Women (NCW) relevant staff members, the Admin coordinator will provide administrative and logistical support to the production unit and the production kitchen located inside the premises of the National Council for Women (NCW) in Giza. Specifically, he/she will

  • Develop and manage the training calendar of the ongoing training programmes at both; the production unit and production kitchen at NCW Giza branch.
  • Manage the usage of the production unit and production kitchen by the programme beneficiaries as co-working spaces in terms of scheduling appointments and ensuring proper usage of the existing assets
  • Provide logistical support as needed to the trainers and NCW relevant staff to ensure effective delivery of the various training programmes
  • Act as the custodian of all the raw materials and assets relevant to the production unit and production kitchen at NCW Giza branch
  • Adhere to all the required reports, forms and paperwork requested by UN Women ECO.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in culinary, applied arts, social services, law, or a related field is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of technically demonstrated experience in the field of coordination and administrative support;
  • Previous proven experience in the logistical support, fieldwork, vocational training field, with a focus and specialization on handicrafts and cooking, is a plus;
  • Knowledge in gender equality and women empowerment and working with refugees and host community nationals is an asset.

Language Requirements:

  • Excellent written and spoken Arabic and English languages are required.

Evaluation Criteria:

Individual consultants will be evaluated based on the following methodology: Only candidates obtaining a minimum of 49 points in the technical evaluation would be considered for the financial evaluation.

Technical Weight Criteria: 70% (70 points)

  • Criteria 1: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in culinary, applied arts, social services, law, or a related field is required. (1****0 points)
  • Criteria 2: Minimum of 1 year of technically demonstrated experience in the field of coordination and administrative support. (35 points)
  • Criteria 3: Previous proven experience in the logistical support, fieldwork, vocational training field, with a focus and specialization on handicrafts and cooking, is a plus. (20 points)
  • Criteria 4: Excellent written and spoken Arabic and English languages are required. (5 points)

Financial Weight Criteria: Lowest Financial Proposal: 30% (30 points)

The points for the Financial Proposal will be allocated as per the following formula:

  • Contract will be awarded to the technically qualified consultant who obtains the highest combined score (financial and technical);
  • The points for the Financial Proposal will be allocated as per the following formula: (Lowest Bid Offered*)/ (Bid of the Consultant) x 30;
  • 'Lowest Bid Offered' refers to the lowest price offered by Offerors scoring at least 49 points in the technical evaluation.
