This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

The Accounts Assistant reports to the Sr. Finance/Accounts Associate. The Accounts Assistant provides accounting and administrative assistance throughout the audit and year-end closures ICO by processing payments and assisting in documentation preparedness for audit and closure activities.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Sr. Finance/Accounts Assiociate or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Accounts Assistant will: - Review and submit payments to GSSC related to HACT, utility payments, supplies, PO, advances and other payments. Check the requests have the necessary supporting documents, usually the original document, validity of the charge, they are certified by the staff responsible and are coded correctly. File the transactions and the related supporting documents regularly and share copies with relevant sections as required. - Submit payments to Bank
- Review and process the received funds in local bank. Check the necessary supporting documents. File the transactions and the related supporting documents. - Review the monthly closures files uploaded by DFAM on SharePoint - Review the long outstanding items and follow up for clearing the items. - Assist in preparing bank reconciliations documents such as grouped receivables and grouped payables files. - Check the local bank balances regularly. - Prepare two-week cash forecasts for local payments. - Make replenishment as needed

Living conditions: as this is as national UN volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan.

UN Volunteer entitlements and allowances: The purpose of the allowances and entitlements paid to UN Volunteers is to enable UN Volunteers to sustain a secure standard of living at the duty stations in line with United Nations standards without incurring personal costs. The allowances are in no way to be understood as compensation, reward, or salary in exchange for the UN Volunteer's service. Contingent on specific eligibility criteria, location of the volunteer assignment and contractual type and category, the payment of allowances will begin from the date of Commencement of Service.
