These operations are managed by Coordination Offices in Aden and Sanaa, and 2 Field Offices in Al Khawkhah and Al Hudaydah Governorates. In Yemen, Action Against Hunger’s current sectorial expertise is focused on Health and Nutrition, FSL, WASH, and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS). Action Against Hunger has strong technical and operational capabilities in Yemen, with additional support provided through our international network, ensuring technical, managerial and financial support as needed. Our team is running operations of approximatively 7 million Euros. The main donors of the mission are ECHO, GFFO, GAC, CIAA and CDCS.

ACF is operationally working in 2 bases: Hodeida and Aden, with its coordination team located in Sana’a. In total, the Yemen mission counts 269 national staff and 24 international staff. With Action Against Hunger’s global experience in the sectors of Health and Nutrition, FSL and WASH, coupled with our local presence, we have developed programme methodologies that ensure vulnerable populations have access to essential healthcare, while also providing targeted support to food insecure households and addressing some of the public health risks that can cause morbidities.

Pourquoi nous rejoindre ?

Since 2015, Aden the interim capital of the Internationally Recognized Government (IRG) has experienced a very volatile political and security environment, leading to several outbursts of violence. ACF is managing to navigate within the complex political and security environment.

The ACF guesthouse and office is housed in two multi-storeyed buildings located by the sea in Khormaskar neighbourhood, which is 10 minutes’ drive from the Aden International Airport. The buildings are fortified for safety and security purposes and have fully equipped bunkers with hibernation kits for use in the event of external threats. The facility has office space for up to around 30 staff and combined guesthouse space for 5 international staff with some rooms having attached bathrooms and others having shared bathroom. The improved security situation in Aden has since seen the reconstruction of infrastructure across the city, reopening of social facilities such as parks, coffee/fast food restaurants and shopping malls accessible based on local operating procedures and guidelines issued by ACF’s security team.
