The Youth Mobilization Volunteer for Young Key Populations in UCO India will contribute: • In the execution of the UNAIDS youth strategy. • Leveraging new technologies and social media, the National Youth Mobilization Volunteer spearheads dynamic new ways of working in UNAIDS, using online tools to collaborate with country, regional and global teams and creates space for and reinforces a new generation of young key population leaders in the AIDS response. • Build up and strengthen strategic partnerships and coordination among youth networks and key stakeholders to facilitate the participation of young key populations and policy change.

Under the overall guidance of the Adviser, the Youth Mobilization Volunteer (HIV) for Young Key Populations will undertake the following tasks: • Support for increased political inclusion of young key populations in regional and country decision-making processes related to policy, programme development and funding mechanisms in the AIDS response-such as the Joint UN Teams on AIDS, Country Coordinating Mechanisms and National AIDS Control Organisation • Provide technical support to Country Office to mainstream Young Key Population (YKP) related issues into different programmes and initiatives. • Assist in mobilising resources to support YKP-led initiatives, to ensure a meaningful engagement of YKP as active partners of the HIV response. • Support in building a community of interest by making information more accessible to young people through blogs, podcasts, Twitter, Facebook, feature stories, impact articles, press releases. • Assist in exploring opportunities to build broad new alliances for social change inside and outside the AIDS response by adopting a network approach to social organization, identifying key influencers and organizations in other youth movements, while also utilizing existing partnerships to deliver on UNAIDS' strategic young key populations agenda. • Assist in organizing and managing events • Support in developing communication strategies and assist in mobilization of partners •Assist in preparation of monthly/quarterly review decks for internal and external meetings

social work, youth work, community mobilization, and volunteers • Experience in national and / or international levels in programme/project planning and imple-mentation, with a particular emphasis on HIV/AIDS. • Good understanding of youth issues as well as youth engagement programming is essential. • Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e., studies, volun-teer work, internship) would be highly regarded.

• Ability to conceptualize, plan, develop, implement, monitor evaluate and report on pro-grammes in the areas indicated above, and to transfer knowledge and skills. • Ability to develop partnerships and to network in the areas of youth engagement, • Knowledge of the latest developments and technology in related fields. • Analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills, excellent writing skills. • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills; • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and ap-proaches of communications for development; • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel; • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Ex-cel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technol-ogy equipment; • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines

The capi-tal city is an administrative, cultural and commercial center with modern amenities and well connected by air. It is a safe place with large expatriate community drawn from embassies, UN agencies, MNCs and foreign businesses. It has long hot summer from April till October. The monsoon arrives at the end of June, along with an increase hu-midity. The brief mild winter starts in late November, peaks in January and heavy fog often occurs.
