Overview

Assist in engaging vulnerable youth through communication and event coordination activities.

You have:

• Currently in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree, currently enrolled in a Master’s degree, or have graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent studies.
• Field of study: Communication, Journalism, Social Science, Social Entrepreneurship or equivalent.
• Knowledge and a proficient user of Microsoft Office productivity tools.
• Knowledge and proficient user of graphic design programmes.
• Knowledge and proficient user of Online meeting programmes.
• Thai and English required; Knowledge of other UN languages is an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

This assignment is part of the UNDP Youth Strategy, highlighting 3 pillars on civic engagement, economic empowerment, and change agent for SDGs, which covers all types of engagement from beneficiaries, contributors, and initiators. Youth (15-30 years old) around 20% of Thailand's population are vulnerable to various development issues, especially in the time of COVID-19. Youth have voiced their concerns and challenges regarding the financial situation of the family, mental health, education, violence in various forms, and unemployment. In order to ensure human security and resilience in Thailand in the context of the COVID-19 outbreak with Leave No One Behind and safeguard the progress made towards the SDGs, the assignment is expected to assist the strengthening of the programme in engaging with vulnerable youth through dialogue, capacity building, and knowledge exchange opportunities. To create a human rights-based and gender-sensitive approach to progressively advance inclusive, sustainable and people-centered development for all people including youth in Thailand, and safeguard and promote progress towards the SDGs.

Coordination Support to organize Youth Dialogues

• Assist in producing Youth Dialogue promotional materials using Microsoft Powerpoint, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator or any other data visualization tools.
• Assist in managing registration and communication with participants

Assist in the coordination with media teams

Coordination Support to organize capacity building workshops and Hackathons for vulnerable youths include: PWD, LGBTI, Ethnic group and Muslim group

• Assist in producing event promotional materials using Microsoft Powerpoint, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator or any other data visualization tools.

• Assist in the coordination with logistic suppliers

• Assist in the coordination with participants in pre and post programme

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements:

• currently in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree; or
• currently enrolled in a Master’s degree; or
• have graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent studies.

IT skills:
