Youth Engagement Associate

Contract

This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

Description of task

Under the supervision of UNDP’s Parliament Chief Technical Advisor, the UN Volunteer Youth Engagement Associate will undertake the following tasks:

Support project implementation

• Under the guidance of the Youth Engagement Specialist, support the implementation of the project
• Assist the preparation of relevant project reports and documents for the UNDP and the Donor as required
• Assist the revision of activities in response to the changing COVID-19 situation
• Research innovative solutions to challenges and bottlenecks
• Assist the team in coordinating with partners, especially Ministry of Education and education institutions, on activity implementation
• Support the development of outreach materials, and the required materials for events, conferences, and other meetings
• Support with the organization of events, conferences and other meetings and the drafting of relevant documentation pre and post meetings
• Participate in coordination meetings with other UN organizations and partners
• Support monitoring of the activity’s implementation
• Support the drafting of procurement documents as required
• Support in administration and finance as required, including keeping records

Support project communication

• Assist the drafting and translation of communication and visibility material
• Coordination with the Country Office and Parliament project team on communication and visibility
• Ensure communication and visibility is done in accordance with the UNDP’s and Donors rules and regulations

Educational additional comments

Secondary education, enrollment, or completion of a university degree is an asset

Experience remark

• Demonstrated interest and/or experience (up to 2 years) in Youth Engagement, Development, etc.;
• Experience in project monitoring, preparing reports, consolidating information and data, preparing briefing notes, meeting notes, etc.;
• Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in accordance with changing priorities
• Self-motivated and proactive;
• Experience with the Ministry of Education is an asset;
• Experience in communication is an asset.

• Portuguese(Optional), Level - Working Knowledge
