UNFPA is seeking candidates that transform, inspire and deliver high impact and sustained results; we need staff who are transparent, exceptional in how they manage the resources en-trusted to them and who commit to deliver excellence in programme results.

The Youth Coordinator is supervised by and reports to the UNFPA adolescents and youth Team Leader (with additional guidance from the UNFPA Representative as co-Chair of the UN Youth Theme Group and the Assistant Representative) and will undertake the following tasks:

Support the UN Youth Theme Group in its secretariat functions (as long as UNFPA is the co-chair, and collaborating with the other co-chairing UN entity), to ensure good coordination between UN agencies’ youth programming; • Undertake mapping of UN agencies youth work and liaise with UN agency youth focal points to ensure the overview is up to date. • Support the formulation and implementation of joint activities including International Youth Day and other occasions, including support to the development of concept notes and other tasks focused on mobilization of resources for joint youth related interventions. • Assist in formulating joint programming, events, field visits and communication efforts. • Promote information sharing on various aspects of UN’s youth programs and projects. • Identify mechanisms to foster coordination and complementarity among inputs of various stakeholders to ensure optimal utilization of resources and maximize impact of programmatic interventions. • Develop a monitoring system on UN including joint interventions for young people sup-ported by UN agencies. • Develop all reports and documentations related to UN Youth Theme Group, including good practices and promising ideas. • Support the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the adolescent and youth pro-gram including the Youth Leads project on youth leadership and participation.
• Support the youth advisory panel (YAP), youth peer education network (Y-PEER) to implement their action plans, ensuring their engagement with relevant partners.

The duty station for the assignment will be East Jerusalem, which is a family duty station. It is currently at UNDSS security level MODERATE. As is the case for UN staff and partners, the volunteer will make his/her own arrangements for housing and transportation to and from work.

A monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of 5254.5 is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life, health and permanent disability insurance are included (health insurance for up to 3 dependents), as well as Exit allowance for satisfactory service.
