A Technical Proposal consisting of: 1. Most recent curriculum vitae; and 2. An approach and methodology for the assignment, a workplan and comments on the Terms of Reference if any (in brief). 2. The amount to be charged for the assignment, which should be quoted in **US dollars only**. Please identify any travel costs separately. Your proposal should be submitted by e-mail no later than 8-FEB-2024. E-mails proposals and any supporting documents must be in ENGLISH and should not exceed 5MB. Long Description ---------------- **BACKGROUND** For over 20 years, UNESCO has been working with thousands of young people worldwide by establishing and supporting youth-led initiatives and networks, strengthening youth capacities, fostering their knowledge production, and creating dialogue spaces between youth, policymakers and other partners. UNESCO understands that young people embody hope for better, innovative, and more effective solutions to the world’s challenges, which align with the the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 2045 Vision of Indonesia. This year, UNESCO Jakarta Office aims to enhance the capacity of youth by implementing the “Youth as Researchers” (hereafter “YAR”) programme. This programme aims to enhance the ability of youth to conduct social research and thus contribute to solving current socio-economic challenges in Indonesia. Additionally, UNESCO Jakarta office seeks to engage with youths through sports to promote equality, empower youths, and provide advisory services and guidance to strengthen sports policies. To successfully deliver the 2024 programme on Youths and Sports, the service of an Individual Consultant is required to support the Social and Human Sciences unit on the project coordination, implementation, and finalization. Long Description ---------------- **OBJECTIVES** The main purpose of the consultancy is to coordinate the overall delivery of the 2024 Social and Human Sciences Programme on Youths and Sports, including YAR programme during the project implementation period, liaising with UNESCO, implementing partners, participating universities, youth researchers, and academic advisors. **OUTPUTS** The expected outputs from this assignment are, but not limited to, organization of online and in-person training sessions for youth participants, facilitating and leading stakeholder coordination meetings, and the dissemination of youth research outputs. The Individual Consultant shall also prepare the reporting and final project outcome documents. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Under the overall authority of the Director of UNESCO Jakarta, the direct supervision of the Programme Specialist for Social and Human Sciences (SHS) and in close consultation with the SHS unit, the Individual Consultant shall: Long Description ---------------- 1. Support the implementation of youth and sport related projects as directed by the SHS Programme Specialist. 2. Coordinate the launch of the 2024 YAR: - Liaise with university partners and implementing partners to coordinate the recruitment of suitable youth participants for the YAR programme. - Liaise with the university partners and implementing partners to identify suitable presenters to deliver online social research training. - Convene a project steering committee consisting of UNESCO, implementing partners, and university partners and coordinate regular meetings of the steering committee. - Plan and deliver the online orientation meeting and orientation materials for participants. 3. Manage the implementation of the 2024 YAR programme: - Act as the focal point for youth participants throughout the programme implementation - period and ensure delivery of youth social research training. - Design and organize a minimum of three capacity-building workshops in consultation with the Programme Specialist for Social and Human Sciences. Short Description ----------------- - Review the first submissions of the youth research outputs and in consultation with the - Programme Specialist for Social and Human Sciences provide actionable feedback. - Review the final submissions of the youth research outputs and finalize project research output documents in consultation with UNESCO. - Coordinate the final in-person camp and dissemination event (“Knowledge Summit”) at a date to be finalized by UNESCO. - Compile the research and publicity materials for publication and public dissemination as - directed by UNESCO. 4.Support the 2024 YAR reporting process by assisting in the preparation of financial and narrative reporting documents as directed by the Programme Specialist for Social and Human Sciences. 5.Carry out any other related tasks as assigned by **the Director and the SHS Programme Specialist** 6.Regularly update with the latest development of the activities with regular communication via electronic means. 7.Strive for a gender-balanced approach throughout the project planning and delivery phases. Where possible, ensure gender-parity of participants and include the gender data in the list of speakers and participants. 8.UNESCO will bear travel cost (air ticket from Point of origin/JAK/Point of origin), terminal fares, visa application costs, and any field missions undertaken whilst on duty. **DELIVERABLES** UNESCO shall make the payments to the Consultant upon submission and approval by UNESCO of the following outputs during the contract period: 1. Travel plan and final workplan. 2. Monthly reports highlighting progress of project implementation, opportunities identified, challenges encountered and other relevant information. 3.
