Overview

Develop strategies for funding and managing projects related to Youth, Climate and Advocacy.

You have:

  • Bachelor's Degree level education or equivalent essential (Environmental Science, Climate Resilience and/or Disaster Risk Management).
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar area of work.
  • Strong understanding of Climate Change and Advocacy and/or Youth Development in Fiji or the Pacific, past experiences in humanitarian assistance, DRR and Climate Change Adaptation would be an added advantage.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce succinct written reports in English.
  • Sound financial and administrative skills, including budget preparation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Excellent computer skills (including Word and Excel).
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Ability to liaise and negotiate effectively with government, service providers and other agencies.
  • Works collaboratively as a team player, listens actively and values contributions.
  • Self-management and personal accountability.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to manage own time and to set and meet priorities and deadlines without close supervision.
  • Honest and Transparent.

Y3CER Project Officer

Plan International began working in the Pacific in 2012 and has offices and staff in Solomon Islands (SI) and PNG, in Bougainville and has an established regional office in Suva, Fiji.

Plan International Asia Pacific Office is seeking to hire a full time Y3CER Project Officer. The Pacific Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure funding and resources for programs and initiatives within the Pacific region. This role requires a proactive and strategic thinker with strong networking skills and the ability to foster relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including donors, partners, and government agencies. The position holder will also hold the responsibility to lead preparation and submission of high-quality funding proposals. The role reports to ANCP Project Manager based in Fiji.

  • Strong understanding of, Climate Change and Advocacy and/or Youth Development in Fiji or the Pacific, past experiences in humanitarian assistance, DRR and Climate Change Adaptation would be an added advantage.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce succinct written reports in English.
  • Sound financial and administrative skills, including budget preparation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Understanding of, and/or experience in, rights-based approaches including child rights, gender and inclusion,
  • Understanding of, and/or experience in, child protection and safeguarding.
  • Meet core competencies (as below), in particular to be an ambassador for Plan, communications and collaboration and leading self and others.

Essential

  • Understand asset management and procurement procedures and policy
  • Excellent computer skills (including Word and Excel)

  • Work experience in an NGO is an advantage
  • Have good command of English and be able to communicate clearly with local community reps.
