You have:
- University Degree in journalism or any relevant academic qualifications.
- At least 2 years’ experience working writing; example of similar narrative documenting work and journalistic writing will be required.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the COVID-19 interventions.
- Previous working experience with another international development organization is desirable.

Produce at least three narrative human-interest stories (one per month) which highlight: • The issues affecting children, their families and communities regarding COVID-19 prevention and vaccination demand in Middle East and North Africa. • The actions taken by UNICEF and Partners in these regard • The impact of this support and the challenges that remain
- COVID-19 Response
Public information and reporting
UNICEF Middle East and North Africa Regional Office (MENARO) is actively engaged in the COVID-19 response. Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) is one of the key pillars of the response. Description of the assignment 1. Review regional and country level COVID-19 RCCE response strategic documents, and situation analysis. 2. Liaise with country-level UNICEF programme staff to identify relevant programme areas and counterparts to engage in the development of the Human Interest stories. 3. Remotely collect the material for, write and edit at least three Human Interest Stories Deliverables Based on the background information and technical input and coordination from the Regional Communication for Development Specialist, the consultant is required to: • Produce high-quality Human Interest Stories of the experiences of participants of the COVID-19 RCCE responses including vaccination interventions. • The protagonist of the story could be any community member but in as much as possible a child’s perspective should be included.

6-10 hours per week / 3 weeks
