Access to clean drinking water and sanitation is an issue for over half of Papua New Guinea’s (PNG) population, many of whom live in remote, rural locations that are hard to reach with essential services. In rural PNG, only 20% of the population has access to an improved water supply which includes public standpipes, boreholes, protected wells or springs. For the rest of the population, water is directly taken from the source and with the high child maternity death, this project seeks to identify gaps in the water quality, hygiene, and sanitation as well as a proper water supply system for the community concern. The quality test will be carried out on the rural communities water supply source with engineering scoping depending on the source and the availability of the water specifically for all the communities concerned. Morobe Development Foundation Inc for the past years have been involved in community development projects and this research will serve as a progressive benchmark to gain local and international support in community and women empowerment and progressively improved standard of living. Please send in your resume and outline in detail your interest.
