Since 2007, IRC has worked with refugees and other vulnerable populations in Jordan. Working in coordination with the humanitarian community and the Government of Jordan, the IRC's assistance programs for children in Jordan include both camp-based (Zaatari, and Azraq camps) and urban-based refugee assistance (Mafraq, Ramtha, Irbid).

Job Overview/Summary ------------------------

The WPE Social Worker will work as part of the WPE team and will be responsible for providing direct case management, individual counseling, and group-based psychosocial activities to conflict-affected and displaced women and girls and survivors of GBV within the Women and Girls Community Centers (WGCC).

Key responsibilities: -------------------------

Case Management

- Treat beneficiaries with respect, and understanding and in a caring manner, always maintaining confidentiality and based on survivors’ needs and wishes. - Develop encouraging plans of action for staff care as part of the overall response strategy, ensuring a comprehensive approach to support the well-being of staff and develop a positive working environment. - Develop action plans to address survivors’ physical, emotional, psychological, social, protection, and financial needs and provide follow-up to ensure needed services are provided. - Work closely upon consent of the survivor with the IRC clinic, Economic Recovery Development program, and cash unit as well as other referral partners on referrals to ensure comprehensive care of survivors, - Ensure case management steps, case management meetings, referrals, and documentation are happening in a timely and quality manner, by conducting case conferences with the different teams regularly.

Counselling ----------------

- Conduct in-take and psychosocial assessments of each client. - Provide individual PSS support, counseling, and mentorship to women and girls at risk of GBV and GBV survivors and other vulnerable groups. - Provide group counseling PSS groups and Girl Shine curriculum. - Provide referrals for beneficiaries in need of additional specialized mental health support and other required services.

Awareness-raising ---------------------

. Coordinate with other WPE staff to sensitize community members on GBV and IRC services available within the Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS).

- Sharing feedback on needs and gaps with community outreach officers and the wider WPE team - Work closely with the Community officers to provide outreach to encourage survivors to come forward and seek assistance.

Documentation -----------------

- Provide case documentation in line with safety, ethics, and confidentiality. - Compile GBVIMS/ Primero, and data reports monthly. - Provide a list of GBV survivors for the satisfaction survey analysis every month. - Prepare the success stories when applicable to be shared with the program manager for reporting issues. - Complete confidential incident reports and all other case-related forms.

Other Duties ------------

- Compile and prepare weekly / monthly reports and any other data as required by the supervisors and WPE Manager. - Attend training and assist in facilitating training as required. - Increase the quality of case management services provision by coordinating with partners in the referral pathway and attending UNHCR meetings. - Prepare for the celebration of international events/ campaigns such as 16 days of activism and International Women’s Day. - Facilitate youth initiatives to empower youth in community development. - Refer GBV cases for cash assistance. - Engage in meetings with other service providers when needed. - Any other task designated by the Senior Officer, WPE Manager - Partnerships & outreach Activities and Program Manager

Indirect/Technical Reporting: WPE senior capacity building officer “Hana Jalboush”

Position directly Supervises: NA ------------------------------------

Key Internal Contacts: WPE Officer, WPE Adolescent Girls Officer; IRC Jordan team including other departments such as Supply Chain, HR, and Finance Departments

Key External Contacts: Close collaboration with other humanitarian actors, local NGOs, UN agencies, and government service providers.

Qualifications

Requirements: -----------------

- Bachelor’s degree in counseling, Social Work/Social Sciences/Community Development, or another related field preferred - Excellent verbal communication skills and report-writing skills with the ability to convey information effectively in English. - Full professional competency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other data analytics software

- Ability to work as a member of a team essential - Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain composure, and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when necessary and be able to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.

This Position is based in Azraq Camp, with frequent visits to IRC program sites and location in Jordan.
