The Tech Volunteers for Resilience (Tech4R) programme, co-led by the United Nations Development Programme’s Istanbul International Centre for Private Sector in Development (UNDP ICPSD) and the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme, mobilizes skilled digital volunteers to co-develop open-source digital tools that strengthen resilience, recovery, and inclusive development. In collaboration with UNDP Uzbekistan under the GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP), Tech4R is implementing the Multilingual Website Synchronization for GEF SGP Uzbekistan project. The national GEF SGP website serves as a vital platform for sharing information on environmental protection, climate adaptation, and community resilience. However, inconsistencies between its Uzbek, Russian, and English versions currently limit its usability and accessibility for diverse linguistic audiences. This initiative will enhance the platform’s accessibility, ensure full synchronization across languages, and improve the user experience for community-based organizations, project implementers, and local partners. The Web Editing & UX/UI Volunteers will play a key role in improving the layout, structure, and navigation of the website while ensuring multilingual content is displayed accurately and consistently. They will also optimize visual elements to enhance readability and alignment with accessibility standards.
The Volunteer together with the team will: • Edit and align web pages across Uzbek, Russian, and English versions of the GEF SGP Uzbekistan website. • Adjust layout, menus, and content blocks to ensure consistent navigation between language versions. • Upload and organize multimedia materials, including images, case studies, and project results. • Implement formatting adjustments to improve accessibility and readability. • Collaborate with translators and content reviewers to maintain uniformity in style and presentation. • Conduct visual quality assurance checks before publication to ensure alignment with UNDP and GEF branding guidelines. This is an unpaid volunteer assignment.
