Duties and Responsibilities

A. Advisory and responsive support • Provide second-line advisory support to content contributors through requests escalated by the Web team, focusing on queries that require advanced content strategy input, could not be resolved at first level, or (exceptionally) arise during peak periods. • Respond to a range of escalated requests—from selected ad hoc queries requiring timely input to more complex assignments, such as proposals for new topic pages, section landings, mandates, or content restructures. • Lead or support discussions with contributors on larger or more strategic content initiatives. • Meet with contributors to advise on aligning content with OHCHR and UN standards, guidelines, templates, and best practices. • Review and edit content provided by subject matter experts to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with standards. • Guide and train content owners through remote support (e.g. calls, screen-sharing, web meetings), demonstrating good practices. B. Proactive content review and improvement • Conduct targeted content audits of selected sections of the website, assessing quality against guidelines, user needs, and industry best practices. • Prepare concise content assessment briefs for content owners, including actionable recommendations (e.g. revise, consolidate, update, remove, or create content). • Engage with content owners and unit managers to discuss findings, gather input, and support implementation of improvements. • Perform edits, rewrites, and drafting of new content as needed. • Proactively identify opportunities to improve content structure, clarity, and usability across the site. C. Guidelines and continuous improvement • Contribute to the ongoing refinement and development of OHCHR web standards, guidelines, and templates, incorporating feedback from contributors and evolving best practices. • Support the creation of practical guidance and resources to improve content quality and consistency across the organization. D. Collaboration, content coordination and implementation support • Manage multiple concurrent content projects, proactively following up with stakeholders to maintain momentum and meet timelines. • Consolidate content updates and recommendations into clear, structured packages (files and instructions) for implementation by the Web Team. • Work closely with the Web team to ensure new content and updates are accurately implemented on the live site. • Collaborate regularly with the Web Unit Head through weekly meetings. • Participate in broader Web Team coordination meetings, as required.
