Result of Service

The consultant will build the Climate Action, and Peace and Security websites, in preparation to promote issues addressed during major events such as the International Day of Peace, UN General Assembly and the Climate Change Conference in 2025.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chiefs of the Climate Action and Peace and Security Sections, the incumbent will carry out the following tasks: - Design, implement and maintain the climate action and peace and security campaign website, working together with Project Manager, UN Web Services and the digital unit. - Advise on organization, structure and layout of the websites, keeping in mind multilingualism (language pages will be handled in-house) and Drupal migration process. - Upload content on the English versions of the websites, including text, images and multimedia content. - Create new webpages, as necessary, and present layout options for new content. - Keep track of updates in English, for language units to replicate. - Take on additional assignments, including research and drafting for the website, as required by the Project Managers.

Qualifications/special skills

Masters or equivalent is required. Experience with web development and design required. Experience working with UN websites is desirable. At least five years of progressively responsible experience in web development and design is required. Experience using the Drupal CMS system is required. Knowledge of digital design tools desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
