Contract

Extension of contract is subject to availability of funds and satisfactory performance.*** **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** ----------------------------------------- As the only specialized organization with the mandate to support educational policy, planning and management, the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) plays a unique role within the United Nations system. IIEP was established in 1963 as an integral part of UNESCO. The Institute launched its new Medium-Term Strategy (2022-2025) in November 2021. IIEP has offices in Paris, Dakar, and Buenos Aires. IIEP draws on voluntary contributions from core donors and project funding to achieve its goals and objectives. Under the overall authority of the Director, IIEP, and the direct supervision of the head of the communications cluster within the Knowledge mobilization and management team, and within the framework of the Institute’s 11th Medium-Term Strategy, the incumbent will support the institute’s digital communications functions, including the development of new communication channels and formats to make the Institute’s knowledge products more accessible, relevant, and attractive. In particular, the incumbent will support IIEP’s global website upgrade and redesign, and the optimization of the IIEP’s ETICO thematic portal to ensure their improved digital inclusion and visibility, accessibility, efficiency, and relevance for the communities they serve. The incumbents will have the following duties and responsibilities: Long Description ---------------- - Detect and address issues in the functionality of the websites/portals by applying fixes where possible. - Flag issues for the webmaster/maintenance provider and following up until their resolution as well as detect pitfalls in user experience and propose solutions. - Support technical upgrades to the website and portals, including mapping and migration of content, and participate in the design, testing and validation. phases of new technical developments. - Contribute to the development and dissemination of newsletters, invitations for events and other communications products, including inputs into the design, content and preparation of mailing lists for distribution. - Provide inputs into design of new pages, considering the content and audiences. - Support project managers and the communications team for the creation of content and publication plans for different platforms. - Upload content in all its available language versions with relevant tagging, hyperlinks, and optimize user engagement by following UN accessibility standards.
