You have:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in working in relief and/or post-conflict settings in reputable institution, national or international NGO.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in WASH, Engineering, Management or related fields
  • Experience in leading team structure
  • Experience in Budget Management
  • Working knowledge of the logical framework approach to project design, monitoring and evaluation/project cycle management.
  • Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and attention to detail in the development of written documents.
  • Ability to build positive relationships in a cross cultural environment
  • Computer literate, with knowledge and hands on skills with email and in MS Office Word and Excel.
  • Arabic and English language proficiency required.
  • Good working experience and familiarity with core principles of children rights, child protection as well as Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct is an advantage.
  • Experience of field operations in refugee camp for WASH project (latrine construction and rehabilitation)
  • PMP background preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Position Title: WASH Project Manager

Job Propose:

The Project Manager position has been created to lead the implementation of latrine construction project in Azraq refugee’s camp. of this position is to oversee and ensure quality of the implementation of a WASH project in Syria crisis response and to coordinate WASH related aspects with internal and external stakeholders. The project aims at ensuring the continuity and safety from risks of infection of essential WASH services for the population groups most exposed and vulnerable by building private latrines.

MAJOR RESPONIBILITIES

People/Team Management

Overall management of teams , Engineers, assistant to engineers and IBVs

  • Ensure that project goals, indicators and activities are implemented on time, within scope and budget
  • Prepare detailed implementation and other plans with Project Manager (e.g. field-level human recourse planning, risk mapping, schedule, quality control)
  • Organize administrative and financial matters related to project activities
  • Conduct regular meeting with the field WASH team and supervise them for efficient implementation
  • Conduct regular monitoring site visits
  • Monitor and evaluate on-going activities and report on unmet needs and gaps
  • Prepare monthly financial plans related to the project
  • Ensure that project payments are made and overseen in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Management of the Cash for Work (CfW) team.

Project Related Operational Tasks

Monitoring of expenditures and procurement plan required for the project

  • Coordinate with the WASH Technical Advisor together with to ensure quality of implementation
  • Implementation of WASH activities will be well coordinated with external partners in the target sites with support of the Technical advisor
  • Actively participate in sector coordination meetings if requested to coordinate and supervise the activities in the field
  • Represent WV activities regarding the project as requested

Ensure internal and donor reporting

Undertake camp coordination liaison functions for WVJ interventions in the camp

Others

Perform other relevant tasks as assigned upon request of Project Manager

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Required Professional Experience

  • Experience/expertise of WASH/ livelihood and Cash for work in Camps
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in working in ideally in relief and/or post-conflict settings in reputable institution, national or international NGO.
  • Experience in leading team structure
  • Experience in Budget Management
  • Proved background in policy level work and advocacy.
  • Strong background in Livelihoods in Jordan and ability to understand, explain livelihood assessment tools.
  • Experience in working in partnerships – partner management (budget, project planning)
  • Good working experience and familiarity with core principles of children rights, child protection as well as Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of the logical framework approach to project design, monitoring and evaluation/ project cycle management.
  • Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and attention to detail in the development of written documents.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Organization, planning, and time management skills
  • Detailed oriented and able to verify data quality
  • High level communications skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships in a cross cultural environment
  • Computer literate, with knowledge and hands on skills with email and in MS Office Word and Excel.

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in WASH, Engineering, Management or related fields

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Familiar with core principles of Children Rights, Child Protection, Participation, Do No Harm, Sphere Standard
  • Knowledge of and adherence to the Child Protection Standards, Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct
  • Experience of field operations in refugee camp for WASH project (latrine construction and rehabilitation)
  • PMP background
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible world view, emotional maturity and physical stamina
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Ability to foster a good team spirit
  • Ability to transmit information correctly with accountability and maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines
  • Experience and ability to work in a busy office environment that often demands high levels of concentration
  • Experience with Power Point and Project Management software is an asset

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement 50% to Azraq camp
