You have:
- An advanced university degree in public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, sanitary engineering or similar.
- A minimum of eight years of professional experience in WASH-related programmes for developing countries.
- One year of deployment in a developing country is required.
- At least six months of work in humanitarian situations, including one three-month deployment mission.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.
- Expert knowledge in rural water supply for low- and middle-income countries - including water safety, sustainability.
- Expert knowledge in urban sanitation for low- and middle-income countries, including sustainability.
- In-depth knowledge of humanitarian WASH - coordinating the response.
- Desirable: Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency.
Contract
This is a P-4 contract. This kind of contract is known as Professional and Director staff. It is normally internationally recruited only. It's a staff contract. It usually requires 7 years of experience, depending on education.

The salary for this job should be between 110,801 USD and 142,856 USD.

For every child, clean water
n the 1970s UNICEF established a presence in Yemen to respond to the urgent needs of children in the poorest country in the Middle East. In 1991, Yemen ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and it was enacted immediately. Since then the country has been making steady progress for children until it plunged into a brutal conflict in 2015 but even before that, Yemen needed large amounts of humanitarian assistance.
In collaboration with local authorities, non-governmental organizations and community partners, UNICEF is working in all the governorates in Yemen to respond to the needs of children throughout the country with a continuum of services to help children survive and grow to their full potential through the following programmes: Health, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Basic Education, and Child Protection. How can you make a difference?
You will support the Chief WASH in managing the WASH section, and in leading the development, preparation, management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH programme within the country programme. You will provide technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes, to ensure the achievement of the WASH-related output results in the country programme.

Minimum requirements:
Education:
An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, sanitary engineering or another relevant technical field. Additional relevant post-graduate courses that complement/supplement the main degree are required.
Work Experience:
Developmental: A minimum of eight years of professional experience in WASH-related programmes for developing countries is required. One year of deployment in a developing country is required.
Humanitarian: At least six months of work in humanitarian situations, including one three-month deployment mission (with UN-Govt-INGO), is required.
Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.
