The Warehouse Unit in the Warehouse and Inventory Management Centre, UNICEF Supply Division, is seeking a highly motivated Warehouse Assistant. The Supply Division Warehouse is a semi-automated warehouse with space for 37,000 pallets; it is fully computerized and operated by barcode reading. The three main areas are: Receiving, Packing/Production and Outbound.
How can you make a difference?
UNICEF is managing more than 900 different materials in the warehouse operation. This position is to provide assistance to the warehouse operation in the main warehouse in Copenhagen in terms of inbound and outbound handling as well as packing of orders as well as kits. The Warehouse Assistants will report to Warehouse Supervisor.
Summary of key functions/accountabilities:
• Carries out the loading and un-loading of trucks and containers. • Carries out the receiving of shipments into the warehouse Including quality control of palletlzation, packing and labelling of incoming shipments. • Undertakes the transfer of goods into the warehouse for storage. • Processes the picking requests from the warehouse. • Undertakes the packing of sets, Unicef kits and individual Items into boxes on the various assembly lines. This also includes the prepack and the bulk packing function. • Ensures the labelling, stacking and palletization of the packed boxes according to the customers' requests. • Performs general warehouse ·maintenance including cleaning of the warehouse with the sweeping and washing machine. • Participates in the annual physical inventory count. • General warehouse maintenance Including cleaning of the warehouse area. • Performs any other duties as requested by the Supervisors.

Required: • Secondary education • Practical working experience within a Warehouse setting • Fluency in English • Valid work permit and residency in Denmark at the time of submitting the application (Note that the selected candidate is responsible for obtaining any required extension of their residence permit as such an extension cannot be dependent on an employment with UNICEF).
